Top three books…
I read this year… though none of them were published this year:
1. Spooner by Pete Dexter. Perhaps my favorite book of all time.
2. Then we came to the end by Joshua Ferris.
3. Let the great world spin by Colum McCann.
Think about: why are books published in hard cover? 1) they are harder to carry around… 2) they disuade me from purchasing them because I know a cheaper more portable version of the same book will be coming out eventually…
If the kindle, nook, et al tell me anything… it’s that people do actually still want to read, they just don’t always like the clunky format… and with books, the clunkier the format, the more expensive the book.
